THE GESTALT COACHING APPROACH

The Gestalt coaching stance is based on a relational field approach, an experiential approach, a whole person approach, and a here and now approach.  Gestalt coaching emphasizes raising awareness in the moment to connect with one’s creative power, generate more possibilities and conscious choices. The Gestalt approach uses the Cycle of Experience as a tool to track the change process.  The Cycle of Experience is a wave of awareness – mobilization – action – closure.  As waves repeat, the change process can be depicted as a spiral.  With its focus on creative power and awareness-raising, the Gestalt approach to coaching is particularly suitable to support the co-creation of purpose-aligned visions and collaborative solutions to drive bold, transformative change.

What is unique about Gestalt Coaching?

Most coaching approaches focus on achieving some desired future goal.  Gestalt coaching focuses on what is present now rather than what should be.  The Gestalt paradoxical theory of change states that change occurs when a person become what they are, not when they try to become what they are not.  By deepening awareness on what is present, change happens organically. 

How do I know if Gestalt coaching works for me?

What coaching services do you offer?

I offer individual Gestalt coaching sessions and packages via videoconference.  I also offer pro bono coaching to selected clients.  Plase get in touch if you are interested in knowing more about the services that I currently offer.

How a typical coaching session look like?

We will tailor the session and the approach to your needs.  We will typically start the session by exploring the emerging topic, and defining the desired outcome and the measure of success for the session.  We will spend the bulk of the session exploring the topic through Gestalt awareness-centered coaching tools.  We will  complete the session by discussing takeaways, and identifying a strategy and action steps to move forward, including support systems and accountability measures to follow through the actions.
